Travelling through France you will one day find yourself in the Alsace. This is a beautiful, quiet, rural area> with lots on offer, rolling fields as far as the eye can see, with a palette of rich colours in all shades and a variety that isunequaled. Hidden from sight by blooming trees you will discover charming old churches, richly decorated houses with baywindows and turrets and lots of woodcarving.
Again, search for a vantage point and what you will see will take your breath away and coax "oh"'s and "ah"'s from your throat.
Lots of flowers give everything the finishing touch>!!
Gather flowers and leaves, twigs and herbs so that the cozy warmth of that Harvest is yours to enjoy year round till your next outing.....
Each season has its own attractiveness and gamut,( range )of colours, asking to be admired and savoured. Do it: roll down the hillsides till the rolling clover sticks to your body and clothes and you are out of breath, fill your pockets> and everything there is to fill with spicy smelling leaves and sweet smelling flowers and have a good glass of beer with the local population, friendly people.
Worthwhile, or not?? I, your little, pert brown bear advise you to make the most of your days: you haven't got the slightest idea how precious they are, until you are home again, so toil on, tired or not, fill yourself to the rim!!!
Here I am, once again!!!!! You don't know me or you don't remember me??
Listen: I am the little brown bear, it is my job to guide you through these travel pages, so just follow your guide. Come on....there is nothing to be afraid of, on the contrary: pure joy is awaiting you, so come on......
High up in the JURA (Mountain range in Eastern France) we saw this lonely church/chapel, not the first time in such a strange and unexpected place. These places where they have been built very often amaze me because: who would want to build a church here, high on the mountain, exposed to all sorts of weathers and.....who are the worshippers?
Yellow stone<, and slates for the roofs, a monastery of modest beauty. The flowers just give a finishing touch to this cloister. It is almost as if you can feel the coolness and quietness that you are sure to find in there. Also knowing that the silence is only broken by the rustle of skirts and the shuffle of sandals on well polished wood floorboards.
Fall is the most beautiful of all our (4) seasons. Are we stunned by the abundance of colours of all the summer flowers, the colours of autumn and even the sounds are different. The colours in spring and summer are exciting, the sounds clear and tinkling, in autumn the colours, honey&hazel coloured stubble fields and leaves to shuffle through and the sounds (the fruits and nuts that land with a thud on the grass, bring us in a subdued mood. A time to reflect and to meditate, to look back and to muse over the months that run through our fingers like soft sand on a beach.
Hey, do I really hear swallows leaving and geese returning???
However....FRANCE is great in every season!
HELP YOURSELF and pay a little money! Always a joy to have a box of freshly picked applesin the back of the car and....the picking is so nice to do, it makes you feel good!!
