Tidbits... I think the most fun we had whilst playing the slot machines was watching someone win the jackpot! He was so excited and while other people in the room seethed with envy, we just laughed and cheered along with him, enjoying his win as if it were our own. He was young and was playing the slots for the first time (like us). That's probably what made the hardened "slot vets" seethe. But I saw the whole thing as a game and why shouldn't he win? |
Feeling like a Queen... When you get too tired to walk, beware: Vegas artfully has removed benches from the equation. They want you sitting at a slot machine!! We found this lovely settee in the Paris Casino and Resort right by the entrance to the Convention Center and that is where I sat, feeling like a Queen, until my feet recovered. A good excuse to show off my pedicure at any rate... |
Fountains at Mirage As I said on the main page, my fun of seeing the total eruption of the volcano was ruined as the show was cancelled due to "inclement" weather. Still it was exciting to see. As were the fountains of Bellagio!! I have no pictures as I was sitting a little too far away to get a good shot, but the amazing fountains perfectly choreographed to every accompanying musical nuance was a tremendous sight. I also have no pictures of Fremont Street. I was very ill that evening and barely survived the show. But I am so glad that I went. It was amazing!! |
Red Rock Canyon Isn't this gorgeous!!!! Well there is much more to see in my Nevada travelogues!! This is just a little tast of Red Rock Canyon. A very easy day trip from Las Vegas and what a tremendous cntrast to the lights and opulence of the city itself!!! |
Lake Mead Drive, drive drive -- on into the desert you go. Then out of the blue, that's exactly what you see, and by that I don't mean sky (although you can't get much finer in that department now can you!!) Lake Mead emerges before your eyes -- a true desert oasis. For more pictures of the desert, cactii, Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead and Hoover Dam, please see my Nevada page and travelogues. mapakettle Tue Apr 20, 2004 01:57 UTC Hello fellow Canuck, I agree with you about Krispy Cremes, question the prime rib (mine was dry) and love the picture of you in front of my favourite machine. Calgary is great, my kids live there.
