Javakade This part of KNSM island overlooks the old shipping warehouses. The architecture attracts many people. Several architects have designed the houses, hence the difference in style. |
Javakade - houses This photo gives a nice picture of all the different styles. |
Sumatrakade This is my street. Great living right at the water. The big ship you see has been replaced by another one now. There are not supposed to be any ships here for longer than a couple of night, but when there are legal or financial problems or something, it does happen. One has been 'emprisoned' here for 1.5 years. |
Canal And you thought the canals of Amsterdam where only the old ones? Part of Java Eilandīs charm are the canals. The architects kept the old canal houses in mind when designing these modern ones. There are four of them (I think), and they are all a bit different. |
Bridge One of the bridges. Each canal has two bridges connecting them to the inner gardens of the island. The bridges are made by different artists. |
Brantasgracht bridge This one is so funny, I love it. |
My street And this is my street on a beautiful November day. |
