Street musicians

by GUYON - last update: Aug 8, 2004

Compagnie Jolie M?

Red orchestra
They sing political songs in a true spectacle. If you look at the flag, you can guess for what party they sing.

Classical music by the street

Photograph shot in Rue Mouffetard.

She is a very good musician who plays with an accordion player.

But I ignore the name of the musical instrument in English and even in French. Have you an idea ?

Jazz band

In rue Mouffetard too.
American orchestra
Pop orchestra (Le Marais)

Music Feast - 21 June

Each 21th June (beginning of Summer), Paris lives in music. There are concerts, orchestras, musicians, singers or only groups of singing persons by the streets.

Identical feasts take place in a lot of European towns.

In Paris, my favorite district fro this special day is the 4? arrondissement (H?tel de Ville, Marais).

Music Feast (2)

If you want to attend the next Feast. Forgive the car. Buy a "Music Feast Pass" which allows to go from a district to an other with a sole ticket.

Be prudent because all the streets are very crowdy and some (few) people are drunk.

An other accordion player

This one plays classical music.

Papy plays violin and Mammy holds the score and protect him against sun.

Violonist
Double bass player

The double bass player

Photo taken near the Sacr? Coeur.
I like this picture because a wind seems to blow from right.

Jazz Band

Even the American musicians are in the Paris streets.

This orchestra was behind Notre Dame, on the bridge which links Ile de la Cit? and Ile Saint Louis.
American orchestra on Pont St Louis
American singer

He sings and plays guitar

An other political singer

This one sings "Vote for me" in the stores of rue Montorgeuil.

His name is famous : he is Lionel Jospin. He was temporarily Prime Minister of France.
A prime minister on a walk
Christian

Christian and his accordion

Each Sunday between 11AM to 2 PM, he is in the market of Rue Mouffetard. He sings ancient French Ballads with a crowd of fans of every ages who sings together with him.

Often, he is with 1 to 3 other musicians.

Do not worry to speak with him. His job during the week days is ..... English teacher.

Really a magic weekly moment : see the Traveloque Rue Mouffetard to know why and to learn the song of rue Mouffetard.

Christian and his friends

This day christian was not the only accordion player. Ha had 3 friends to play with him.
Christian & Co rue Mouffetard
Jazz in Mouffetard

A jazz orchestra

Close to the "Musette" (accordion) there is a jazz orchestra.

A guitar player without guitar

This begger is too poor to buy a guitar. He mimes near a guitar player and receives some money.

Rue Mouffetard
The stick player
Pop in Mouffetard

An other orchestra

Also rue Mouffetard
