One of the main department stores of Paris.

At the end of each year, the Galeries Lafayette and its neighbour, the Printemps decorate their windows and illuminate the Boulevard.

It is one of the best place to buy the 'articles de Paris' (perfumes, purses, fashion) but it is expensive and crowdy in all seasons.

At the corner of the Boulevard haussmann and the rue de la Chaussée d'Antin.

Go to the 7° floor, there is a terrace ffrom which you can have a large view on the district.

On the photograph, you see the Opera (the Old one called Opera Garnier) and the Tour eiffel.

Very close to Galeries Layette there is the Printemps. This department store has also several buildings dedicated at different kind of items : general, household items, women apparel, man clothes.

At the ground floor, do not miss the "articles de Paris" : perfumes and leather hand bags. If you cannot afford so expensive purchase, come to only see ... if you can.

The moto of this department store is : "On trouve tout à la Samaritaine" (one finds everything at the Samaritaine).

To illustrate that, an advertissement shows a man who has found a pink elephant at the pet department of the Samaritaine.

If you search some cloths, you can find them more surely than an elephant.

You will find a great sight seeing going to the top of the store. Take the lift for the 9th floor and climb by the stair to the terrass at the 11th. There is an orientation table... And it is free.

There is also a restaurant at the 10th floor.

The BHV (Bazar de l'Hôtel de Ville) is located in the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville.

It is famous for the tools and the household articles but there are also apparel, foorware and food.
