My Family & my home

by mlt_t - last update: Aug 12, 2003

Here's my husband, 2 daugthers and 1 son with me in Baguio City last March 2001
my house

my home

This is where I live now. We call this house BELSERA HOME. The construction of my house started last July 7, 1997 with 7 men working on my new home. She is 4 years old now. Lots of construction still needs to be done

Why we move here

I used to live and work in Manila. My family and I rented a house near where I worked. It was more convenient for mw to travel everyday since I worked at night. BTW, I worked in a fish market. I sold live catfish. I worked from 8:00 pm until 4:00 am in the morning. Then my mother-in-law who lived in California decided to build a house to stay in. My main fear was the idea of leaving my family, friends, and co-workers behind. You see, moving and living in a strange place is a scary thought for me. This was something new for my family and me. I was helping my parent’s business at that time when all this came about. I earned good money to support my family’s daily expenses and our “kapristo” (extra expenses). I loved my work. I loved what I was doing. I loved working with the people. I did not know what to do in a new place. Life must go on. This is must be another step in our lives. We did not know any one in Bataan except for one family of friends. These friends helped us in every thing we needed from the biggest to the smallest. I am grateful to these friends of ours. (You can see them in some of my pages. I have their picture in some of our recent trips. They’re always with us each time we travel or go some places. Adventurous family that is what we call ourselves.)
“What am I going to do in this place?” “What will I do here for a living?” These are some questions I was thinking in those moments of my life. What will happen next? We rented a house near town while our new house was under construction. It took a year for the house to be built since that time the dollar exchange rate has gone up and down. Our budget has gotten bigger from the moment the dollar went higher. That is the reason it took us a year to move in our new home. Having a new home was a dream come true for my husband, our kids and me. After a month my mother-in-law, her eldest son, and his family came for a vacation and family reunion. It was a lot of fun. (You can see them in my Boracay, Tagaytay, Mt. Samat and Subic pages. I will add more of our trips but I still don’t have the photos) At this time we don’t have fences because there is still a lot of work left to finish our house. We need to save a lot of money for that construction…How about-$$,$$$._lol

I learned to love the place. The place is very quiet. Even the town is far from our place. We’ve lived here 4 years now. I still don’t know a lot of places here at Bataan (names of street etc.) I became a homebody when we moved here. Before, in Manila, I was always going out to my friend’s house, joining friend’s parties. I was always out! Out of reach! Not anymore!
I have so many friends in Manila that came by to visit us. I’m no longer lonely because they visited us more often. They love our new place. I always have visitors here. Sometimes they stayed for a month…lol! My budget is getting big but I don’t mind. They’re my friends. Friends are welcome in my home.

This is my faith; I learn to love my faith. I still love working when I can. I don’t work now. My kids need my full attention since I have 2 teenagers and one 6 years old daughter. You can say I am an ideal stay at home mother at the moment…. just at the moment…lol!

Inside Belsera

Inside my house, You can see the living room. My dining room at my right side. From where I'm standing taking this photo is my small living room or waiting room area. In front of my living room are my kitchen, and my breakfast nook. We only have a small house that fits my family.
my kitchen... me and my husband
Here comes my favorite place. The Mother's hideout...but of course my KITCHEN...with me, my husband who love to eat. Even though I'm not a very good cook. Forgive the mess...we did some grocery shopping this day. So, my kitchen is a mess, always a mess....lol! Am not I looking fat here? Tell me, Steve! Tell me the truth!...lol!
the fog...when cold weather
In front of my house, you can see this beautiful view The mountains and FOG in front of my house. My husband mastered the mountains with his motorcycle bike. You can take a look at my husband’s mountain trekking in my travelogues if you’re an adventurous person. Have fun!
