| | Center City Hengelo Thiemsbrug was a small bridge in the past at the crossing of the major roads to the neighbouring cities.
Nowadays it's a big three fork crossing with a fourth fork for cyclists only.
New buildings are constructed at all 4 sides. |
| WW II tank taking a left turn |
| | Rare traffic It's amazing what kind of traffic is crossing Thiemsbrug. |
| | Thiemsland Just behind Thiemsbrug construction work is in full swing. |
| | How long?? Innocent, a alternative center for young people. |
| | City Hall This is a collecors item. For 2 weeks this handical parking spot at the City Hall entrance was converted into a taxi stand after 10PM. The message was: If you are handicapped you must go home at 10PM!!!. After quick protest the 24 hours handicap parking is back. |
| | The new Police Office Building De Marskant crossing. As there is an elementary school this strange bycicle path construction is made. On this side it is one-way; at the other side it is 2-way (without signs-expect for the old parking signs for parking area that is replace by the 2-way path). It is so strange and cumbersome that nobody is uses it.
To the right the new Police HQ is taking form. It replace a bank officebuilding that was demolished. |
| | Emmastraat De Emmastraat. This is the coffeeshop area, but there are some oriental shops too. Not to forget, there is the only TV-repair shop. At the end to the left you will find the Central Postoffice. |
| | ROC School The framework of the 100 year old STORK building wil be used for the new Regional Training Center ROC. Goto Part 5 |
