.This is the Masjid Raya or the Grand Mosque. Beside is a Muslim cemetery which was not my fondest memory of my childhood city |
Below is a traditional house. Indonesia has 27 provinces and each province has its dinstinct architecture and culture. Although I am not sure which province this beautiful building is from, I am sure it is a Sumateran province, probably the minangkabaus. |
the pagaruyung palace in the minangkabau region in sumatera. |
LAKE TOBA..I spent most of my holidays in this area when I was small. I have been back a few times since and I have noticed changes to the lake. Unfortunately, it was not as clean as before and pretty as before, as many of the beaches by the lake are gone with erosion affecting many of the areas now. Nevertheless to me, it still holds nostalgic memories of my chidhood years. |
