Sha Tin Park

The Lantern Festival is held here each year. There is a also a huge shopping centre beside the park and on the KCR railway line as well as the 10,000 Buddha Temple complex. Well worth a trip out and easy to get to.

Sha Tin Racecourse

There are 2 major racecourses in Hong Kong, Happy Valley (the oldest (1846) on Hong Kong Island) and Sha Tin in the New Territories which has only been around since 1978. Both offer world-class racing and Hong Kong people are huge racing fans. You can catch the KCR to Racecourse Station.
