Kaivopuisto The boat to Pihlajasaari(island) leaves from here, front of Carousel-cafe. If weather is great(sun is shining and warm), the boat goes every 15 minutes. Return ticket costs 4,5 EUR. The boat trip takes 10-15 minutes. |
Small bay. This pittoresque bay is between the islands. |
Swan family. I said erlier that there is swans. There live permanently about 9-11 swans on the island. |
Light pack for a weekend. |
Building up the house. Tent is light weight, east to build up, warm and keeps the moisture outside. Much easier to carry on than a brick-house. |
Completed. Almost invisible apartment on the forest. |
Our "terrace". Excellent rocky beaches for sunbathing. |
Sandy beach. These lockers can be rented for a day. Couple of them are free to use for changing the clothes. Keys can be loaned on the kiosk next to pier. |
Restaurant Villa Hällebo(Haellebo). Maybe the best terrace in Helsinki. |
Villa Hällebo A view from the stairs. Lovely, isnt it? |
Thirsty? Villa Hällebo is fully licensed and there you can get also a decent food for a reasonable prices. |
Wildlife. This frog let me rub his back. Real wild animal... |
Flowers on the rocky beach. |
Romantic. That text has been done long time ago with lot of work(what love can do?!). Oldest similar texts are from early 1900's. |
Bicycle-police patroling in the island. |
On the way to mainland. THE END. |
On the way to Pihlajasaari. This weekend(8.-9.6.2002) the weather was outstanding! Temperature was +22 celsius, light breeze and only few clouds on the blue sky. Marvellous... |
"Land"! Pihlajasaari can be seen almost immediately after the boat has left the pier. The journey has begun! |
We are getting closer. Almost there. The bridge seen on the picture, connect the eastern and western island. |
Boat. This is one of the boats that shuttles between Pihlajasaari and mainland. |
Sign. You cant get lost here. uch a small island and signs everywhere. |
Nature. On the island are many different kind of birds: Swans, Gooses, Ducks,... |
Nude-beach in Pihlajasaari. The nude-beach is located on the eastern island(follow the sign to Naturisti-ranta). |
