Trekking the GR67

In october 1999 we did a 8-day backpacking trip through the Cevennes. The area is quiet, especially when you leave the beaten path. In fall the chestnut forests turn yellow and if you like chestnuts, there is plenty to eat.

We bought a "Topoguide", a guidebook with 1:50000 maps inside, and we just went on our way.

We tried to camp as much as possible, but sometimes you have to be inventive. Here we found a farm where nobody was home... fortunately there was still nobody home when we left the next morning.
Finding food and water was an adventure also. Some nice French people taught us how to recognize edible mushrooms. We survived!
This is how we found our way. The topoguide and the red/white markings along the trail.
