Came from Australia to study in Viborg, Denmark for the last semester of 2001. What can I say about the place I LOVE DENMARK. Too many travellers don't make it to Scandanavia because it is too expensive, thats crap just live off bread and jam and you'll be right. This is a photo of downtown Viborg at sunset with my friend blocking some of the view!

Viborg.....where the f@#k

Viborg can be found in the heart of Jutland (which is the bit of Denamrk attached to Germany) and is one of the oldest ciies in Denmark. It makes stuff like tobacco, textiles, beer, and machinery. The city’s cathedral (c.1130), the largest granite church in Denmark, was restored (1862–76) in its original Romanesque style. There is a snapshot of this below.

Don't get me wrong while it has heaps of cool old stuff in Viborg there is a certain atmosphere around the place that is just too hard to describe. Highlights for me included just walking down the old cobbled pedestrian mall sampling all the Danish pastries and going to the the old local pubs. Of course the beer is good....even better if you can afford to buy one behind the bar. If the purse strings are tight I suggest sampling beer from the local supermarket and just heading to the pub after that just for the experience.
