Mossul

by MProcher - last update: Sep 10, 2002

Mosque of Nuraddin

With no doubt the mosque of Nuraddin with it's bended minaret is the most remarkable sign of Mossul.

Mar Behnam

The monastery Mar Behnam with it's renovated front. The building still has many parts going back to medieval ages.

Bash Tapia

The ruins named Bash Tapia are the rests of an old ottoman palace. The building was located high over the banks of the Tigris. Erosion by the river destroyed the palace and will even do the rest until it is completely destroyed.
It's a nice place to look on the river, nothing more.

Very Nice page, Iraq has a very rich and interesting history but too bad all the wars have destory everything. Even when it become tourist friendly, all the historical sites had been destory. We can only rely on photos for its beauty.

Interesting Tips and impressive pictures. Are ziccurats in Iraq now? Or we can see them only on history books?

Nicely done. I cannot imagine anyone visiting this country on holiday anytime soon. Great photos and writing. Thank you.

Well done! For a moment I though all Iraq related pages here were propaganda by occupation forces. Yours deserve to be number one.
