MARUATA, MICHOACAN.

From Puerto Vallarta to Zihuatanejo

this chapter I travel from all the golden coast..costa dorada..
not so many turist around but really nice coolpeople, surfers, rancheros, etc.

that zone can be expensive in some resorts but in other places you find cheap expenses, I mixed camping, with hotels and houses.

PUERTO VALLARTA ( jalsico state )...is a nice resort with a mix of a mexican life for turism, half of the city is old town and the other side the all inclusive resorts.
www.puertovallarta.net
the cheap hotels are in the old part of the town, just around the catedral you can find some.
It easier to reach the bars and restaurants in malecon , buses runs all the time the city, and you can walk around, is secure and police are around...
The famous Yelapa and Quimixto is a nice place with a laggon and american expats community, the place is quiet and relax, you need to take a boat from the beach in puerto vallarta or in Mismaloya.

In Costa Alegre a great places to visit are Costa Careyes, and the nice and great Barra de Navidad.
with calm waters, some waves, nice sunsets and facilities for all budgets.

********************
I can say the coast of Michoacan is an unexplored beahes and places that normal traveler will be surprised, afyter being travelling to mexico and comparing these beaches, I can say is one of the very best beaches I have see.
The famous MARUATA almost virgin with some fishermans, turrttles (it took me to see puting eggs one like 1.30 hrs), cows and a white sand, nice waves for swiming. But facilites are still poor, you can not find a nice place, maybe camping or homock or in the publo one room.
The beach of Nexpa is one of my favorites the mix of a laggon conected to the sea, in one side you see the blue, violet sky and white moon with white garzas flying, in the ohter side you see a nice sunset of pink, yellow orange.. when I saw that I realize how nice is to be mexican sometimes.
there is a nice swiming there and surfing also, bunwalows are cheap and nice, with facilites,RV are welcome and lot of cool young surfers americans (girls and boys) take long seassons there.
i can say is a hide paradise.
.....for all these places you can go by ordinary bus, they stop in the highway!!!!

Lot of foreing people work in volunteer camps in the beach of Colola, they take care the turttles.

these side of Mexico is unexplored there is a few turism compared other places, so you will find calm beaches, facilities ad a very nice landscapes, buses run from all the cities connecting the places.

all the coast have nice places for camping or homocks, there are not so many cabains or rooms in some destinations, just in the turistic places.

COLIMA SATTE

COLIMA STATE have a great not turist beaches , the most turist place is Manzanillo , but since is a harbor ther are a lot of ships.
there are resorts all inclusive and some low budgets hotels in downtown.

MANZANILLO is a large bay just besides a customs harbor, where lot of imports come from west USA, canada and asia, south america.
the place dont have to much night spots or restaurants..but just necesary to chill and walk in the beach, have a beer and enjoy some sunsets, not many tourist and so lot of locals enjoying the beach..

well known for the sport fishing area sure you can eat lot of sea food.

One of the most inspiring places I ever stop is Barra de Navidad just besides Melaque, this place is a quit place with some restaurants, facilities, beside a laggon and join the sea...sunsets, surfers, few locals.. makes this place one stop to write few pages of your memories or your diary.

its a romantic place ...im sure a bottle of wine or beers in the beach can inspire you..

Melaque is more luxury and expensive since its a complete resort all white.

explore inland Colima can be unique since there is a nice active volcano and also nice food.
street in Puerto Vallarta

NAYARIT STATE

Legend show that near this state there is an island called Mexcaltitlan where the first settlers of mexico city come from, suppously the walk from ehre searching better land to have a new city.

Sayulita y Punta mita are some paradise for surfers, surfing camps , relaxing, acomodation all budgets in Sayulita, more expensive or camping in punta mita.
Also other nice spot is Guayabitos.

Hola...In your travels next year you must visit Loreto. Mi Casa should be completed by mid year. I don't know my times of visiting yet but will let you know. Is the picture of Mission de Loreto taken at San Javier?
