Alanya Please visit my Alanya-page for more info: http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/2a8b3/1c4d96/Alanya lies at one end of a rocky promontory which juts out into the Mediterranean between two long sandy beaches. Today, Alanya is a beautiful holiday center of modern hotels, numerous stores, jewelleries, fish restaurants and cafes and bars. |
Climate and Nature In Alanya has Mediterranean climate. Winter months are mild and rainy and the summer months are very hot and dry. Through the mountains in the East, North and West the cold winds from the interior will be broken so it is possible to bath in the sea for over 8 month and to cultivate tropical fruits and cultivated plants. |
Alanya Fortress The monumental fortress was built between 1226-1232 by Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat. From the octagonal 33 meter (128 ft) high Red Tower starts the defense wall. 140 towers are seen on top of the wall, built with small holes to pour out hot oil and ramps to facilitate the movements of the soldiers in the fortress. |
Damlatas Caves This cave is located at the western foot of the Fortress of Alanya. It was dicovered in 1948 quite by accident by workers who were working on the construction of the new harbour. It is formed as limestone was shaped by erosion. Inside it's all the year 22°C (72°F), the air contains about 12 times more carbon dioxide than normal air and the humidity is about 95%. |
Cleopatra Beach The Egyptian Queen Cleopatra was touring in the Mediterranean and met Antonius (224-188 BC). After falling in love with each other Cleopatra and Antonius got married. As a wedding gift Antonius gave Coracesium, former name of Alanya. Cleopatras favorite beach there was named after her. Even today, Cleopatra Beach is still one of the best and most beautiful. |
Kaya-Alanya Hotel Alanya Kaya Hotel has a bed capacity of 220. This 3 star hotel is preferred by many domestic and foreign tourists mainly for being at the center of Alanya. Moreover, the CLEOPATRA Beach is situated right in front of the hotel and thus emphasizes the beauty of the hotel. Adress : Saray Mah. Atatürk Cad. No:240 Alanya-Antalya TÜRKİYE Phone : (+90 242) 512 2270 (Pbx) Fax : (+90 242) 512 3513 E-Mail : khmi@kayatourism.com.tr |
