These are mask makers in Ambalangoda on the west coast. if you buy once of their fantastic masks. This is where it will have come from. |
Dambula cave temple. There are 5 seperate caves here, containing 150 buddhist images. Dated back to the 1st century when a king sought refuge here. Great views from the top, & lots of monkeys here also. Your not allowed to take photos inside here, but you can buy postcards. |
Soaking coconuts in the river. I cant remember what they use them for. I do know they soak them to make them waterproof |

Before they went in to the main temple all the young monks prayed at the outside shrines, of which there were 10 or so |
one of the young monks was giving me very bad looks & scowling at me all the time, he must have been 11-12. I winked at him & he didnt stop smiling for the rest of the evening :-} |
