Another week in London

by vivimero - last update: Sep 5, 2001

...but this time at The Regency

7/8/2001

House of W.S. Maugham 1874- 1965
Shaw House Chesterfield Street. VEDI LIBRO DELLE LONDON WALKS We had a walk in Mayfair as the book said. It started to rain hard. But we had with us an umbrella. Even is small…We had dinner at the Wagamama, Amo went jogging in the park, I walked along Kensington Church Street but started to rain hard and the number 49 didn’t arrived so I walked home.

8/8/2001

 We fetched the laundry at Mrs. Barbara. This time the clothes were even more and she cahrged just £ 6…
 Went to visit Marvita and asked about the mess of the kitchen that the company didn’t fixed properly.
 Knighsbridge to go to the SCOTCH HOUSE for Amo ‘ sweaters, but they were (the ones he saw last week in the window) all gone.
 Regent Street for the sweater . The clerk said that they probably have again the sales and maybe Amo can find the pullover he wants.
 Art Gallery , we went to ask for a brochure of the cardinal’paintings that we liked. I didn’t want to enter because I was kinda shy as the place was really cool and posh but they were really kind with us and the girl explained to us that the prices were under the painting in a small rotating sheet. The painting we liked was £ 45.000 ….I was fainting. I would have never be able to buy it.
 SWAROWSKI ‘shop as it was raining so we were hiding from the weather. They have new objects in the shape of bugs that I liked a lot..and the vase..it was true that it costs 9.000 £ , the man in the Milan’ shop was right.
 Charing Cross

9/8/2001

Royal Hospital Road (Sloane Square tube st. – turn left and walk straight)
National Army Museum – Amo was thrilled by the idea of having found that museum but when we entered they sent us away because they had some kind of problem so we were not able to see it. It Rains… The museum was FREE..just if you think that London is too expensive and you want to see something for free…

50 GLEBE PLACE
SW3 London

This is the most beautiful house in London.
Chelsea, Kings Rd. And Sloane Street to go to the shop of Thomas Pink. Peter Jones (PJ2 is the bigger place) seems fabulous for furniture and they ship all over. It was raining..the 49 was not coming so I walked back to the Regency. The tube….a mess and they are indeed unable to act when the tube is busy and full of people. A stupid woman was standing by the door and was not moving to let us out. I punched her and pushed…we poor italians are able to cope, like you go out from the train and then, after the people left, you re-enter. Is not that hard..
ART in theatre. (34 £) probably John Boy is in it.
Who is Johnatan that plays with Ally MacBeal? I had seen him somewhere and I am not able to recall. He is the son of the older man that is a lawyer and that is going out with Ally, and that sings Neil Diamond to her! This is a funny show but as usual, in Italy is not shown at all .Even Frasier..where is Frasier now? Crime Scene of Investigation…a good show too. Pizza…are U coming or not? We are starving!

The Royal National Hotel is the meeting point for the trip to Wales. This place is terribly sad and even the area of Russel Square is not my favourite or what I might want from London. The atmosphere of the hall was terribly grey. We drove through King’s Cross’ area, Angel where on saturday there are antique markets and Islaington .

On the magazines that there were in the hall of the hotel in Llandudno we had found some nice addresses of web sites to go and visit about firnitures and bathrooms.
Here they are:
