Tickets and information You can get info and buy tickets in the several agencies in the center of Prague: - the corner of streets Rytirska and Na Mustku - offices of Prague Information Service - offices of Ticketpro- offices of Bohemia ticket- in the buildings where the event takes place. |
Theatre The National Theatre has today three artistic ensembles - opera, ballet and drama which alternate performances in the historical building of National Theatre, in the Theatre of the Estates (Stavovské divadlo) and in the Kolowrat Theatre. Prague State Opera - the building is located about 200 m far from the National Museum (Venceslas square). This is the main opera house in the Czech republic. Laterna Magica is a special performance which does not use the words, only the combination of film projection and life stage media’s - dance, sound, lights, pantomime, black-theatre etc. The speciality of Prague is the black theatre. There are many performances, but one of the best ones is surely Theatre Image in Parizska street (Old Town). |
Concerts In Prague concerts (classical music) are offered to you all the time on the street etc. They are often playing the famous works from Vivaldi and Mozart, usually in a church. If I had choice I would not buy this tickets. They are not really bad, but they play it again and again only for the tourists. I would choose some big concert hall or a concert in framework of a bigger festival. The Prague Spring is a very well known festival (held since 1946). Rudolfinum building is a famous concert hall (and gallery), the home of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. Another famous concert room is the Smetana hall in the Municipal House. The Prague Symphony Orchestra is based here. |
Puppet theatre Puppet shows for children and adults have a long tradition in the Czech countries and many of the master puppeteers' creations are real gems of artistry and craftsmanship. The performances of the Prague Puppet Theatre are based on the music of Mozart's Don Giovanni or the music of Beatles. Recorded music and touristic oriented, the puppets and scene design, however, can be quite interesting. |
