I stayed here for three nights and can only recommend this place.
Charming older building in colonial style, painted in bright yellow and orange, nicely furnished and decorated in the common areas and rooms, very pleasant semi-open breakfast/dining room (I didnt have dinner here though), bar with happy hour etc.
Very friendly unobtrusive staff. Easy English spoken contact over the internet with good webpage and helpful pictures of the rooms. Rates published may be negotiable - just ask politely when making a booking request. I paid USD 25 for a standard AC single incl. bf and the published rate was higher without bf.
Hotel arranges car pick-up from the airport, clearly an option you should take since it avoids that cabbies at the airport try to talk you into going to their favorite places.
Good and very quiet location, still close enough (easy walking distance) to downtown market and restaurant area which I find preferable to proximity to road RN6 leading to the ruins - there all the hotels look the same.
Unique Qualities: Credit card payment is possible here which is not the case everywhere in town. However, be prepared to pay in cash (dollars!!!) in the event the phone connection to the credit card computer breaks down. It happened to me, and there was no cash to be obtained from a CC all over town, not even in a bank, due to the same phone connection cut! Luckily I had enough Thai Baht left which I could change into USD then.
