Torres del Paine is opened all the year, but usually the best time to visit the place is in the summer, unless you are very experienced and prepared to deal with snow (that´s not my case, i´m from the tropics...hehehehe). The problem of going in the low season is that a part of the part, usually the part near Torres may be covered in lots of snow, so if you don´t have the necessary equipment the guard will advise you not to visit those parts...
The park is very organized, with camping sites, refuges etc.
