Restaurant Name: La Claire Fontaine
La Claire Fontaine is located in the heart of the Old Town in Place Rossetti. In the shade of scarlet awnings by the eponymous fountain, this is a wonderful location for people-watching as nearly every visitor will wander through this attractive square. Opposite the restaurant there is the beautiful Baroque Cathedral - St Reparate - worth a visit to see the saints' relics. After your meal, if you have room, you can buy an ice-cream from the famous Fennochio Glacier - 100's of flavours. The location and ambiance is king for this restaurant. The food is fine, nothing special, although the pizzas are very good. You do get good value here - the 3-course set menu is about 11 euros, 90 and there is a choice of about 3 starters, mains and puddings. Wine and coffee are extra. The service is friendly and welcoming inspite of it being a little bit 'touristy'. It appears to be open throughout the day and I found there was no need to book.
Favorite Dish: For the 3-course set menu I usually have the salade Nicoise, followed by daube (meat stew) and pasta, then a slice of tarte au citron. Good value at about 11, 90 euros. Otherwise I just have a Margeurite Pizza about 6 euros - the pizzas are good.
