This hotel is at the far end of Waikiki Beach, close to the base of Diamondhead National Crater. As far as amenities are concerned, the hotel is about average for Waikiki. They have 2 great restaurants, and the beach was very nice. (I saw sea turtles while snorkeling).
Not really sure how the price compares for tourists, I got a gov't. rate due to work.
Unique Qualities: The greatest thing about this hotel is its location. It is not smack dab in the middle of Waikiki beach, which is a plus, not a minus. Situated at the very end of the beach it is seperated from the rest of the "tourist shops/hotels" by a very nice and large public park which includes the Honolulu Aquarium. Also, there's a larger park across the street!
What this means for guests is that you do not have hordes of people to contend with when you go outside, which is the case for the more dense section of Waikiki beach. Plus, the parks are wonderfully kept and were a joy to sit in and read in the late afternoon.
