    • On my first visit to Hawaii where I spent a week there on a return from the UK, I stayed at the Ala Moana Hotel which is right inbetween Waikiki and downtown Honolulu. Attached to the hotel is the big Ala Moana Shopping centre which has some 200 stores and restaurants, which is really convenient. It has all the usual great Hawaiian flavoured bars and restaurants. You can get a nice views as well, either mountain or ocean.
