The Radisson Ancira Plaza Hotel
US$150 per night
If you cannot afford this, at least wander through the lobby.
Unique Qualities: The Ancira is one of those Mexican hotels that exhibits an old world charm, harkening to the elegance of a time long forgotten. The hotel was built in 1910, in a kind of a pre-art deco style, and had fallen somewhat into disrepair, prior to being acquired by Radisson a couple of years ago. Since that time, the hotel has undergone a major renovation, starting with the lobby, and continuing to the meeting room floor. Of the residence floors, the renovation has been fully completed on all but a couple of the six floors, and the renovations are of a high-quality, with excellent materials and attention to detail.
