Restaurant Name: Food at Chatuchak
If you plan to spend
the day at the weekend market,
you will be surrounded by the
smells of all types of foods
in the deep frying making.
Even strange looking ones!
Healthy Eaters,
do not fret!
Tucked away in the outside corner
of the Chatuchak Market is
a cute and very quaint place to eat.
Small, but truly exceptional
is Wishing Well, managed by
its very sweet owner Ying,
as in Yang!
Now how Macrobiotic is that!
Ying is a unique Thai who
has that spiritual connection with food.
Not only does she serve brown rice
with yummy vegetables and tofu,
but she cooks it from the heart.
Made with love.
Now you can’t get any better than that!
When possible,
she uses organic produce,
which is sold in the market
across the street.
As you enjoy your dish,
especially made for you,
you can enjoy the meal
to the New Age music that
will accompany you
while you eat.
I had an extensive conversation with Ying
and could truly feel her within me.
I mentioned how much I admired her being Thai,
and still having the quest in eating
Good Foods.
She said that most Thais do not understand her,
but most of you healthy eaters out there,
should be able to relate to that one too.
She also offers individual cooking classes
on Wednesday through Fridays which
just gave me the urge to take her back home.
Favorite Dish: Some of the delicious meals that Ying prepares are:
Yogis Brown Rice Set: Brown rice, sesame,
+ vegetable salad, steamed mushroom and Miso Soup
for 65 Bahts
Grilled Mushroom with Sesame Oil Dressing
and Brown Rice for 54 Bahts
Steamed Tofu dressing with Sesame Oil Dressing
and Brown Rice at 54 BahtsHer menu ranges from 50 to 90 Bahts.
At the end of my healthy meal,
I decided to give her more than the actual price,
just because I am so grateful to her,
for being there when my tummy was in need.
Closed on Monday and Tuesday.
Tarot reading available from
Wednesday through Friday.
Open on weekend from 9 am – 6 pm.
Note: It is best that you
call before hand,
since at the time of my visit,
she was considering to
maybe move closer into town.
But please do support
this wonderful lady,
if you appreciate Healthy Food.
I’m wishing you well, Ying!
