"Badwater basin" Bad Water Tip by goingsolo

  Death Valley National Park

Favorite thing: This area bears the claim to fame of being the lowest spot in the Western Hemisphere. It is also the hottest and driest spot in all the land of this half of the planet. When all that is said and done, there's little to do here other than go home and tell others that you've been there and done that. A short boardwalk leads out into the basin and you can continue walking on the scorched Earth and examine the fissures in the landscape.
