"The Badwater road" Bad Water Tip by goingsolo

Favorite thing: The Barwater road runs for about 20 miles from the Furnace Creek Visitor's Center to Badwater. It is a paved section of highway and has turnoffs for Golden Canyon, Artist's Drive (when it reopens) and Echo Canyon among others. Since badwater is merely a place to be seen and not really one for much exploring, I'd recommend taking some time to see the other sights along this road. Actually, I'd recommend it even if your life long dream and sole purpose for driving this road was to visit badwater as the canyon areas are an amazing collection of color and carved rock.
