"Metro" Paris Transportation Tip by bluemoon32

The Metro is a fantastic way of getting around Paris & is very easy to work out.
One thing to watch out for are muggers/pickpockets. My Wife & i were attacked last week ( 01-12-04) at Opera Metro station at 11 am after getting off the Roissybus from CDG. I was held & my Wife punched whilst the 3rd man took my wallet & bag. No one came to our aid ( a problem of big City life i suppose) & it spoiled our 3 day break. I still love Paris but my Wife refuses to visit it ever again. Im just glad that our children were not with us. When reporting the crime at a Police Station we were told it's a huge problem in Paris & it's getting worse all the time & the Police are struggling to stop it. DON'T let my comments stop you from visiting Paris or using the Metro as it's a wonderful city but just make sure you take extra care & keep valuables out of sight ( we were obviously targeted as tourists after getting off the Roissybus with a suitcase). It won't stop me using the Metro in future but i'll never walk around with a suitcase on the way to the hotel advertising im a tourist again....i'll just get a taxi from CDG straight to the hotel instead & leave the suitcase there before using the Metro
