"Forget the bridge, go for the ferry" Ferry Tip by velumagan

Ferry, Penang: 5 reviews and 7 photos

It'll be nice to use the bridge but there is no place for you to stop and enjoy the scenery. I prefer the ferry service. Slow, windy, graceful ..... at night, its simply romantic!

If u travel without a vehicle, this mode is the fastest and cheapest for travel between georgetown and butterworth.

The ferry and Penang Bridge has similar charges for bikes and cars (e.g. bikers pay the same regardless of travel by ferry or by bridge). You need to pay only once (BWTH-PNG). The return trip is FREE.

Some go in by bridge and return by ferry. The bridge is best avoided during peak hours/seasons

Address: Georgetown Raja Tun Uda Ferry Terminal & Butterworth Sultan Abdul Halim Ferry Terminal
Directions: Across the Malacca Strait
