The Dragon Bridge, or Zmajski Most, was built in 1901. It was intended to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Emperor Franz Josef but was 3 years late. The bridge was actually named after Franz Josef, but has been known as the Dragon Bridge since it was built.

It was designed by Josef Melan and is the first bridge in the world to contain prefabricated concrete. Each corner of the bridge is decorated with a statue of a dragon, the symbol of Ljubljana, which guard the bridge.
