Saint Blasius Church sits at the western end of Getreidegasse and against the most imposing part of the rock face that makes up the Monchsberg. I didn't go inside, but I can tell you that Saint Blasius is the same as Saint Blaise, the patron saint of woolcombers because he was martyred by the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century. It is said that his flesh was torn by woolcombers before he was beheaded. Ouch!
