  Once Skendervakuf, today Kneževo
by croisbeauty

Those of you who knew Bosnia before the war, might be confused by the new names of the places when traveling around the country. Many names of the places have been changed in last 10-15 years. This is the town of Skendervakuf, nearby Banja Luka, now called Kneževo.
The name of Skendervakuf is of Turkish origin, however, held even in the times when Bosnia was a part of ex-Yugoslavia. Since the structure of the population has been changed in the last 50 years, now the majority are Serbs, the new constituted Republika Srpska have changed it in Kneževo.
