When one thinks of Vigan, this picture is the first to come to mind - cobblestone alleys and Spanish style houses.

Surprisingly, Vigan now shows potential of becoming another bustling city to probably rival Laoag. This street, dubbed as Heritage Village, is the only remaining trace of Vigan's colonial past.

To preserve and protect it, the houses were repaired and refurbished to closely attain their original state. Only kalesas (horse-drawn carriages) are allowed to ply the street to make you feel like you're transported back to the Spanish era.

But I suggest walking down the alley. This way, you could move at your own pace and explore more.

Address: Heritage Village, Mena Crisologo Street
