"Statue of Liberty" Statue of Liberty - Ellis Island Tip by sharkie

If you haven't seen her you can't say you really have been to NY.
If you want to take a walk inside her you have to go to Battery-park and take one of the boats over to the island (you buy tickets at the Clinton-fortress). I can recommend to pay for the ticket that takes you over to Ellis island (the island which the immigrants came to first) also. Or if you want to take nice picture I suggest you take the Staten Island-ferry (cost only 25 cents), it's a 30 minutes boat-ride back and forth. From the ferry you will also have a nice veiw of the Manhattan skyline.

Ellis island should be seen especially if you have a relative way back that once tried to immmigrant to US. Then you can 'catch' a glims of what they encountered when the came here.

Address: In the Hudson River
Directions: The Liberty state park and Ellis island are located south of Manhattan. Go down to Battery-park which lies near Wall street.
