Weaponry at the Musee des armes in Fes
by Paul2001

The Arms Museum of Fes is located in a 16th century fort on top of a ridge that overlooks Fes el Bali. The museum hosts a wonderful collection of antique arms including hundreds of muskets, rifles, cannons, daggers and swords. I was quite impressed by the quality of the exhibits and how well they were displayed. However the museum receives very few Western tourists. I was the only person there. This is quite a shame as the views of the medina from the ramparts of the fortress, known as the Borj Nord cannot be beaten. Make up here just for a photo moment of the view. I walked up from the medina, which meant I had to hike up a dirt path filled with annoying children pestering me for pensils.
The weaponry itself is displayed through 24 halls within the keep of the fort. They were used by the local armies throughout the history of the region.
