"intramuros rediscovered" Intramuros Tip by Ramasita

Intramuros, Manila: 126 reviews and 242 photos

Intramuros (inside the walls) is the original site of Manila. It was totally destroyed during World War II but was lovingly reconstructed from the ruins and now stands as a memorial to the spanish colonial past of the Philippines. When touring the area, don't miss San Agustine Church, Monastery and Museum. The only church in intramuros left standing among the ruins of several churches boasts of a museum of eclesiastical art and colonial statuary. The Casa Manila Museum complex across the San Agustin church is a re-creation of the houses and lifestyle of a bygone era. If only for these two places, San Agustine and Casa Manila, then the trip to intrumuros would be worth your while. Mabuhay!
