"More State Street shopping" Top 5 Page for this destination State Street Tip by Dabs

State Street, Chicago: 3 reviews and 2 photos

State Street, "That Great Street", used to be THE place for shopping in Chicago, now the most popular place to shop is the Magnificent Mile of Michigan Avenue.

But there are still reasons to head to State Street the former flagship Marshall Field's which is now a Macy's (see separate tip), the Louis Sullivan designed Carson Pirie Scott department store (closed in early 2007 but the building is still cool); Nordstrom Rack, Filene's Basement, TJ Maxx and Loehmann's for those of you looking for a bargain; H&M for the younger crowd.

If you get hungry while shopping, you are within walking distance of many fine restaurants including the Atwood Cafe in the Hotel Burnham, Heaven on Seven on Wabash, the 7th floor of Macy's which has an express version of Frontera Grill, Park Grill, The Gage and a variety of other choices that you can see on the attached website.
