kababcity: "La Gard Du Nord...." Paris Hotel Tip by xl100

Paris Hotels: 2,024 reviews and 2,106 photos

I've been to gay Paris a few times.

Once I had the pleasure of staying in a luxurious hotel, with a name like "the golden swan" or some such elaborate ostentatiousness, but normally I bunked in between the kabab shobs and hair weaving salons around the Gard du Nord.

While your only a ten minute metro ride from the sights and sounds which make up the quintissential postcards of Paris it is here that you can truly take in Paris as a globalized urban center.

Here charlatans abound, willing to sell the shoes off their feet, if they had a pair (shoes or feet that is). The local teens are peddling fake hash with the efficiency of hamburgers at MacDoos, where they do their racket.

It's fun fair, casual attire, and a place to let your hair down, take your socks off and have a Stella or two.
