by grkboiler

The Liberation Monument is on top of Gellert Hill. It was placed here to commemorate the liberation of Budapest by the Russian army in 1945. The largest statue, standing 14 m (46 ft) is of a woman holding a palm leaf. A statue of a Russian soldier was once located here but was removed after the fall of Communism and moved to Statue Park.

Address: Buda side.
Directions: On top of Gellert Hill
