Favorite thing: Maremonte beach is definitely one of the favourite spots during the swimming season. The bay is usually clean, and the water is just about the right temperature. The beach belongs to a hotel, so there is a charge when you want to use the facilities. The Maremonte Hotel is located in Alsancak, about 10 miles west of Kyrenia.

Fondest memory: Swimming to the rock island in the midst of Maremonte and Crystal Cove is a great experience. My fondest memory of this place is taking off from the Maremonte beach, having a break at the island, and swimming to the opposite beach. We rested and played some beach-volley at the Crystal Cove and swam back about an hour later.
