Favorite thing: Seeing the long, white river cruise boats moored along the quays for a day with their Swiss and Austrian flags makes you want to hop on one there and then and just continue your journey around Europe's waterways :))) Since there is neither time nor money for this (maybe one day), pick a guided tour of Passau instead. On equally slim boats, you get to go on a 40 minute tour (until early November) and see Passau from both the main rivers. This gives good photo opportunities (in good weather...) as well as teaches you things, although our autumnal trip was in German only. In summer, there are two hour cruises to Linz in Austria on offer, and sometimes also short breaks to Vienna.
