  Great place for a picnic
by iandsmith

Laurieton is a classic seaside Aussie village set on the banks of a river.
It's a bustling litle hamlet less than half an hour south of Port Macquarie with all the infrastructure you need for a holiday.
There's the good beaches, particularly North Haven (also the name of one of the suburbs); the river, long renowned for its fishing; lots of recreational space, none better than from where this photo was taken at the top of Big Brother Mountain where there are picnic tables, lovely grassed areas and 250 degree views over the ocean and hinterland.
It has plenty of accommodation, two licenced clubs, hotels and a shopping centre with supermarket.
