"Temple of Heaven & Earth" Temple of Heaven Tip by Mez77

Temple of Heaven, Beijing: 229 reviews and 504 photos

Formerly known as the Temple of Heaven and Earth, the park is square (symbolizing Earth) in the south and rounded (symbolizing Heaven) in the north. You will notice that old Chinese coins also use the square hole in the middle of a round coin to symbolise heaven and earth.

It's open daily from 5am to 9:30pm but the ticket offices and major sights are only open from 8:30am to 4:30pm. All-inclusive tickets cost 35, simple park admission costs 15. Get the more expensive ticket as it is well worth getting in to see the attractions.

Directions: The east gate is easily accessed by public transport; take the no. 807 or no. 812 bus from just north of the Chongwen Men metro stop (209, exit B) to Fahua Si.
