  Muddy Mud Pie, Coffee Club
by bpacker

For those of you not acquainted with this strange-sounding dessert, let me tell you what it is. A Mud Pie is essentially a dollop of chocolate ice cream sitting atop a crunchy Oreo biscuit base. Warm choc fudge and a generous sprinkling of biscuit crumbs complete the sinful look. This concoction is made to look like mud from the Missisippi River, but that's where the resemblance ends..

Favorite Dish: I know, it is strange to see a Southern dessert so well-loved in Singapore but it's the truth! Singaporean foodies will swear that there is a mud pie entry in the local food bible/directory, ( "Makansutra") and many would have gorged on this dessert without knowing who the hell Mark Twain is.

Back to what I was saying, Coffee Club offers the best mud pie there is in town. The "Muddy Mud Pie" is visually arresting as it's a heck of a size ( around S$8 ) . You can say that it's a volcano of choc and cuppucino ice cream, overflowing with bitter-sweet choc sauce and oreo biscuit crumbs. Yummy. You do get a chocolate high from eating this.

Coffee Club currently has six outlets all over the island: Holland Village, Ngee Ann City, Siglap, Millenia Walk, Boat Quay and Hotel Rendezvous but my favourite one is at Ngee Ann City. If you're lucky enough to get a window seat, you'll get to eat your ice cream and see the whole of Orchard Road walk by..
