"Jindivick and Surrounds (Gippsland)" State of Victoria Things to Do Tip by leffe3

State of Victoria Things to Do: 159 reviews and 358 photos

To many, Australia is the red dust and the outback. OK, large swathes of it are so. But Victoria, with its mild (and wetter) climate, is one of the greenest of the states of the Federation.

Only an hour east of Melbourne, south of the Yarra Valley, is the rolling green pastures of Jindivik, Robin Hood and other tiny villages that are renowned for their dairy products, and particularly hard cheeses. A day driving round the area brings wonderful rewards without seeing anything 'major' in terms of landscapes. It's gentle, undulating land and is part of the Gourmet Deli Trail (Robin Hood/Drouin/Jindivik/Neerim South)

It's approximately 1 hour east of Melbourne off the Princes Freeway.
