Carmona as seen from its fortifications
by Paul2001

Carmona is a small whitewashed town that is typical of many that you will find in Andalucia. The town is compact enough that you can see all of the worthy monuments in the matter of a couple of hours. There are several architectually significant gateways and impressive fortifications. For me the highlight of my visit was the ancient Roman necropolis.
Carmona is about an hours bus ride from Seville. If you have the time it is well worth stopping here on you way to Cordoba. It also is an excellent daytrip from Seville which is how I saw it
