My Xi'an Page

These terracotta warriors are another 'Must See' in China. I was flabbergasted at the sheer size of the excavation. I had heard it was impressive, but it's one of those things that must be seen to be believed.

The introductory surround sight-and-sound movie was an excellent introduction. Even though it was in Chinese, you could get the gist of how the terracotta warriors came into being.

Our local guide mentioned that some Chinese people don't think much of the warriors. An Old man was actually furous at his grandchildren for bringing him to see childish pottery. But for me, coming from a country with nothing like this, I was impressed.

Tip: When you are leaving the grounds, spread your group out and surge through the line of people selling cheap replicas of TCWs. Some of you may have one of the salepeople attach themselves to you, but for the most part, the divide and conquer theory seemed to work well.
