"Suzhoe's Canals and Gardens" China Things to Do Tip by Mez77

China Things to Do: 765 reviews and 1,190 photos

I had heard much of Suzhoe and her stunning gardens. There was even a segment on 'Getaway' In Australia before I left. So...I couldn't wait to see some of these wonderful places.

The one garden that I visited during the daytime was the Humble Administrators Garden. It was quite lovely, but what detracted from it for me was the entry cost (Y70) which was much higher than other gardens and double what the Lonely planet from 2 years earlier had said. Also, the place was swamped with tour groups galore.

The previous night we had enjoyed an evening cultural show at the Master of the Nets Garden. This was well worth it at ~Y60. Local entertainers put on performances of comedy, opera, and various musical instruments as you are led around this georgeous garden. It is one of the smaller gardens in Suzhoe but touted as the best. I would have liked to see it during the day, but ran out of time.
