When I first came to this museum twelve years ago it was little more than a handful of Porsche cars crammed into a former workshop behind the showroom. It was a major disappointment. Not any more. Today there is a stunning purpose built museum featuring nearly a hundred cars from all eras of the Porsche marque. The place is huge, with many thousands of square meters that hosts not just cars but interactive exhibits. One showpiece is the giant touch controlled wall screen. There's even a couple of Porsche's you can jump in and pretend you own one. It's great for kids. Overall a hugely improved experience and perhaps better now even than the Mercedes museum.
The museum is open Monday to Friday, from 9am until 6pm. Entrance is 8 euros (4 for children).
Address: Porscheplatz 1
Directions: Take S-Bahn 6 to Neuwirtshaus. The museum is right there in front of the station. You can't miss it.
