  Bell Tower
by Arjaree

In Ming dynasty, it was recorded that this bell needed to be striked 108 beats. 108 beats meant one year. There were 12 months in one year, 24 Qi and 72 Hou. 5 days made a Hou and 6 Hou made a month so it became 72 Hou a year. (A bit confusing but there is this description in the Bell Tower)

The tower is in Hutong area. Its not an exciting place but once you are in Hutongs, you should not miss it.

Address: Zhonglouwan Hutong, Dongcheng
Directions: in Hutongs
